This five-year agreement, which will come into effect from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2019, includes approximately 850 faculty members and librarians from the University of Victoria, including assistant professors, assistant professors, professors, librarians, assistant professors, teaching professors, temporary faculties, artists in residence and teachers. The University of Victoria and the University of Victoria Faculty Association recently negotiated a collective agreement for the period from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2022. For more information on contract changes and transition, see the following links. The collective agreement and any letters of agreement constitute the employment contract between the university and the members of the bargaining unit represented by the association of faculties. The bargaining unit includes all regular members of the faculty of teaching and research; temporary members of the faculty with appointments of more than one year; and professional librarians, both regular and temporary. The Faculty Association is a union certified under the BC Labour Relations Code. The agreement provides for a wage increase of 5.5% over the five years of the period, with the potential for further increase if the B.C. economy exceeds the annual forecasts made by the Economic Council of the fores during the last four years of the agreements. CUPE 4163 is known as the University of Victoria Educational Employment Union. The room consists of three “components”, each with its own tariff language. The government`s economic stability mandates provide public sector employers with the opportunity to negotiate longer-term agreements within a fixed fiscal framework and provide workers with the opportunity to participate in the province`s economic growth in between. The comparisons are expected to be unique and reflect the priorities that were negotiated to ensure the stability of work and affordable services throughout B.C.

682 (93.2%) of the 732 members who participated in the vote to ratify our second collective agreement voted YES on July 17, 2019. The Labour and Labour Relations team works closely with all responsible company executives and human resources advisors on all matters relating to the interpretation and application of collective agreements. .
